Connecting the power switch, reset switch, and LED cables on a regular PC motherboard is something many people are familiar with. However, when you buy a server motherboard, the connection method for these cables might not be the same as for a typical PC.
In this article, I'll guide you on how to connect the Power SW, Reset SW, Power LED, and HDD LED cables (corresponding to the power switch, reset switch, power LED, and hard drive LED).
Of course, different server motherboards may have different connection methods depending on the manufacturer. However, this guide is intended for the majority of server motherboards, specifically for the Intel S1200 server motherboard.
### Let's get to the main point.
For basic server motherboards, the connection process is as follows:
We will still use the notch as a reference point, but unlike a regular PC motherboard, all 8 pins are arranged in a single row, with the notch aligned in that row (I'll assume the notch is on the lower row as shown in the image).
- **Power LED** will be connected to both sides of the notch (+ at the front, - at the back).
- **HDD LED** will be connected next, on the right side (+ at the front, - at the back).
- Next, connect the **Power SW** cable, followed by the **Reset SW** cable.
