VMWare ESXi is currently released up to version 8.0. However, I was only able to find a link for version 7.0.2. These are the original ISO files.
**Note when choosing a version:**
- If you want to use VMware vSphere Client for management, install version 6.0 or lower. From version 6.5, VMware vSphere Client is no longer supported, and only the web interface is available. If you manage many virtual machines and need to frequently move or copy them, it's better to use VMware vSphere Client to save time. However, if you don't often move or copy virtual machines, you may opt for a higher version to take advantage of new features.
- From version 7.0 onwards, VGA gaming is no longer supported. Only dedicated server GPUs (such as Quadro, Tesla, etc.) are supported. So, if you intend to add a GPU, use version 6.7 or lower.
- Some tools help make using ESXi easier and save time:
- **VMware vSphere Client** (Management software, requires version 6.0 or lower)
- **VMware Remote Console** (Displays remote screen of virtual machine when using the web interface)
- **WinSPC** (File management)
